The Henderson Lions won against their rival, the Kilgore Bulldogs, on Oct. 18 at the Lions Stadium. Local veterans were honored before the game.

A trombone quartet, composed of senior Brayden Loosier, junior John Cunyus, senior Reece Hopkins and senior Kole Jordan, from the Lion Pride Band performed The Star-Spangled Boom Boom, a piece similar to the national anthem, as the veterans lined up on the field. The football team and coaches then shook hands with each veteran and thanked them for their service.

At halftime, the Lions were leading the game with 13-7. The score remained the same throughout the third quarter. 

Early in the 4th quarter, the Lions pulled ahead with 15-7. Soon after, the Bulldogs tied 15-15. The 4th quarter became a game of cat-and-mouse as the Lions scored and the Bulldogs tied the game again. Finally, the Lions prevailed with 36-29.
