The HHS Jazz band competed at ATSSB Jazz All-Region on Thursday, Oct. 3 at Bullard High School. The band had four members advance and record an audition for state Jazz band
“The effort that went into that day was immense,” Junior Dylan Clinton said. “The payoff at the end of the day, however, made it all worth the trouble.”
Clinton earned first chair on both Alto and Tenor saxophone, junior Tucker Dorsey advanced on trumpet with third chair as well as senior Brayden Loosier and junior John Cunyus who received first and second chair, the first two area qualifying spots on tenor trombone, respectively. These four members will get to play at the ATSSB jazz clinic at TJC in late November.
“I’m really looking forward to the clinic,” junior Tucker Dorsey said. “It is a great chance to show off how diverse our students really are.”
